It is my love for history that inspired me to organize this Great Historical Scavenger Hunt of our Town. I realized that many of us do not know much about the history of the town we live in, including the adults ;), so I wanted at least the kids to learn about the history of their town, and bring them together to do so. Everyone loves a scavenger hunt, right? So, what better way to learn this; than with a historical scavenger hunt of our town!
Not long ago, my school, Bob Graham Education Center had a meeting about a Close Up trip to Washington, D.C. I would love to continue to learn not just about the history of my town, but about the history of my country. A Close Up trip to Washington, D.C. is much more than a field trip, it’s an exciting, week long study, where we would visit the Nation’s Capital, and we would have the opportunity to experience our government and the political process first hand. Participants get an inside look at the nation’s capital with the people and places that make this city unique. Along with students from across the country and maybe even from around the world, we will embark on a learning adventure like no other – one filled with active participation, peer interaction, and most importantly overall learning and fun.
I am fascinated by the idea of being able to go on this trip, and not only me, but I would love to raise enough funds to help sponsor another student that shares the same love for history as I do, but perhaps can't afford to go. I will do this by sharing 50% of any funds donated here with a student from my school. The cost of the trip for each student is $1,632.00.
I would like to ask for your help in raising funds to help me, and that other student go to Washington, D.C. Remember that The Close Up Foundation is a 501c3 (non-profit) organization and all donations are tax deductible.
Would you like to help us get there?
Thank you very much for your help. I and that other lucky student appreciate it very much!
